Wightlink is inviting Island sports teams, arts organisations, youth groups and environmental projects to apply for support through its 2027 Wightlink in the Community sponsorship scheme.
The annual programme offers discounted cross-Solent travel, helping organisations access mainland opportunities, including competitions, performances, training and events.
The scheme focuses on improving opportunities for young people and supporting youth development, with applications welcomed from sports clubs, arts, music and theatre groups, and environmental projects.
During 2026, Wightlink supported 20 sports teams, 10 arts organisations and five environmental groups, alongside 10 charities and 82 individuals through the IW Council’s Talented Athlete Scheme.
Wightlink chief executive Katy Taylor said the company was proud to support Island organisations, particularly those providing opportunities for young people.
Applications for the 2027 scheme close on October 31, with support covering eligible travel between January 1 and December 31, 2027.
Details are available via iw.observer/wightlink-sponsorship.
Individual athletes can apply separately through the IW Council’s Talented Athlete Scheme by November 29, with details at iw.observer/talented-athletes.
