With much-needed rain affecting matches, West Wight maintained their unbeaten momentum, Emerson Tattersall hit 3 into the net for Ventnor, and there were Wessex wins for Vics and Newport.
IW Division One League leaders, West Wight, continue their 100 per cent start to the season with a 2-1 away win at Bembridge & Vectis. Second-half goals came from Chris Elliott and Zak Harris, after Jake McNaney gave Bembridge the first-half lead.
Whitecroft & Barton won 4-3 in a closely contested match at Brading, with 2 goals from Sam Cant, and one apiece for Ollie Frost and Harry Green.
The Romans netted through veteran, Dan Vale (2), and Josh Richardson. Emerson Tattersall’s hat-trick, and 2 from Charlie Urry, helped Ventnor win 5-3 at home to Cowes Sports, with Harry Mulholland awarded player of the match.
High Park won 3-1 away at Oakfield, with goals from Kyle Kilroy, Scott Saunders and Reece Galloway. The consolation goal for Oakfield was scored by Jack Lavell.
Northwood won 2-0 away at Osborne Coburg, with Connor and Kian Mooney on target for Northwood, who picked up yellow cards alongside Lewis Blackmore and sub, Jack Horder. IW Combination One Early leaders, Brading Res, won 2-0 away at East Cowes Sports Res, with Brad Gamble and Leo Jones on target for the Romans, who had Adam Cantelo booked.
Joint leaders, Sandown & Lake Res, came back from a Jason Kennett goal before the break, to win 2-1 away at Ventnor Res. Second-half strikes came from Simon Williams and Jimmy Golding, but the team will be disappointed that Dan Worboyes and sub, Jacob Morley, picked up yellow cards. Goals in both halves saw Shanklin Res win 2-1 at home to visitors, High Park Res, with Rory Day finishing a well-crafted move early in the match. Aiden White scored the winner, with 15 minutes of an evenly contested match left.
W&B Res won 2-0 away at West Wight Res, after a goal-less first half, and goals from Luke Bennett and sub, Theo Appell, secured the points. Oakfield Res won 3-1 away at Bembridge & Vectis Res. Wessex League In the Premier Division, East Cowes Vics won 3-1 at home to Wincanton, with Adam Voller scoring early in the match. Second-half strikes came from Caleb Neale and Connor Kelly in the final seconds of the match.
Cowes lost 3-0 away at Sherborne Town. Newport, at their temporary home of Westwood Park, celebrated a 2-1 win against Lymington in Division One, with Ji Nash and Harrison Taylor scoring the vital goals to secure the points.
