Whitecroft & Barton won a table-topping clash with Ventnor. There were 4 goals from Sandown’s Ryan Walker, hat-tricks for Vectis’s Ben Cutts, Jake Lester and Jimmy Golding of Sandown, and Newchurch’s evergreen Keith Rust and Ethan Brierley.
W&B’s Andrew Payne was sent off, and there were match-winning mainland hat-tricks for Cowes skipper John McKie, and Wight Eagles’ Kira Smith.
Island Leagues
Division One champions W&B maintained their 100 per cent record beating visitors Ventnor at home, with skipper Harry Ovnik heading home a Harrison Taylor corner early in the match. Ventnor, battling uphill, almost equalised through Emerson Tattersall’s shot which struck a post, before he was booked for a late tackle as W&B led 1-0 at half-time. A further Harry Ovnik headed goal and Kade Woodford shot, secured the points for W&B. Ventnor’s consolation goal from Charlie Urry, sees them remain joint leaders with W&B, who have 2 games in hand.
Brading won 2-0 at home to Bembridge with goals from Dan Vale and Ellis Lomas, with Sam Knowles player-of-the-match.
Vectis won 4-1 away at West Wight, with a Ben Cutts hat-trick and Harry Symes strike, after West Wight took an early lead through Dan Burgess.
In Division Two, Pan volunteers worked all week to ensure the Clatterford Shute pitch was playable. The work paid off when Pan Community won 5-3 at home to Niton. There were 2 goals from Adam Drysdale, and 1 apiece from Jordan Scott, Matt Gulliver and Lenny Dunkling.
Second-placed Sandown & Lake won 13-0 at home to Newport Res, with Ryan Walker netting 4, hat-tricks for Jake Lester and Jimmy Golding, and 1 each for Brad Jackson, Mason Parker and Shaun Kingston.
High Park won 4-1 away at Ryde Saints, who scored through Lucas Baker.
Newchurch won 8-1 away at Seaview, with Ethan Brierley and Keith Rust grabbing hat-tricks, a goal apiece for Robert Ball and Ciaran Gibson, with Luke Barker on target for Seaview.
Combination Leagues
Combination One leaders East Cowes Sports Res won 4-1 at home to W&B Res, with goals from Josh Richardson, Shaun Gulliver, Mac Blacklock and Frank Jones, with Barney Snaith replying for W&B before Andrew Payne was red-carded.
High Park Res won 4-2 at home to Brading Res, with Shay Patrick and Rich Scott giving the Romans an early lead.
Two goals apiece for Luke Flux and Kian Mooney, and 1 from Aaron Ince, saw Northwood Res win 5-4 at home to Shanklin Res, who scored 4 goals in the second half through Sam Collings, Jamie Trowbridge (2) and Dan Drudge.
Third-placed Binstead COB Res won 1-0 away at Ventnor Res.
Combination Two leaders Niton Res drew 2-2 at home to Osborne Coburg A, with Ed Brotherton and Ollie McLoughlin on target for Niton, and Jason Pengelly and Mark Taylor replying for the visitors.
Bembridge A won 3-1 away at West Wight A, with Aidan Taylor netting for West Wight.
High Park A won 2-1 at home to Newchurch Res, who scored through Joe Books. Oakfield Res won 13-0 at home to Vectis Res.
Wessex Leagues
Cowes won 5-2 away at Laverstock & Ford, with a John McKie hat-trick, and 1 apiece for Fin Phillips and Ryan Oatley in the Premier Division.
Joe Butcher scored in Newport’s 1-1 away draw at Ringwood.
Charlie Hart and Scott Jones were on target for Vics in their 4-2 home defeat to Lymington Town.
Women’s football
Shanklin Ladies won 4-1 away at AFC Stoneham, with first-half goals from Faith Wagstaff and Thea Broadhead, and second-half strikes from Tilly Yardley and sub Freya Henry. The win put Shanklin level at the top of the table with a game in hand on leaders Millbrook.
A Kira Smith hat-trick helped secure Wight Eagles a 4-1 win away at Petersfield Town in the Trophy Cup, with Chantelle Scott-Jackson also on target for the Eagles.
Fixtures
The first weekend in November sees Cowes travel to Millbrook and Vics visiting Cove, with Newport at home to Aldermaston.
Island sides take part in Hampshire competitions, with Bembridge home to Brockenhurst, Cowes Res welcoming Wey, Osborne Coburg at Liphook, Shanklin going to Locks Heath, Brading visiting Millbrook, Ventnor travelling to New Milton, Vectis playing Binstead COB, West Wight home to Whiteley Wanderers, and W&B hosting Upham.
There are also cup matches for Bembridge Res at home to High Park, East Cowes Sports at Bournemouth Electrics, Newport Res away at Chamberlayne, Oakfield at Clanfield, Osborne Coburg A home to Sandown & Lake.
