James Wade, one of the country’s top darts players, took part in an exhibition to raise funds for the IW Youth Darts Academy on Friday.
More than 150 people were there to see ‘The Machine’, a 10-time major title winner, and currently ranked ninth in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) league of players.
Four children were lucky enough to play Wade – Ronan ‘The Tornado’ Taylor, Drew ‘The Dreamer’ Catania, Maison ‘The Hitman’ Harrington and Reggie ‘Reg The Ledge’ Woodmore. All played brilliantly, with James picking Ronan as his player of the night and presenting him with a trophy. A few adults also played against Wade: Billy York, Jordan Kent and Kirky Bain. Finally, one of the Island’s top players, Joe Hunt, played Wade, who hit two 170 finishes and three 180s and left undefeated.
