Vintage buses toured the Island over the weekend as part of the IW Bus & Coach Museum’s Rydabus event.
There were 10 routes starting out from Ryde with trips to Brading Roman Villa, the Donkey Sanctuary and the IW Steam Railway on the agenda, as well as excursions to Shanklin, East Cowes and Newport among others.
Organiser, Ben Bartram, said: “It’s always a popular event and we appreciate all of those who came along to enjoy the weekend.
“A big thank you to everyone who came over especially to participate with their own vehicles from various places. We believe the Cornwall crew travelled the furthest. Our volunteers worked so hard both behind the scenes, as drivers, conductors, engineers, front of house and café to ensure all went smoothly.”
Among the volunteer was Vik Mann, known as ‘Shouty Bird’, with Ben adding: “Vik winds up the queues and is very popular. Everyone takes her as she is; she has no filter!
“She volunteers just for the event and it wouldn’t be the same without her shouting and organising the visitors.”
The museum is holding another event, Wightrider, on October 11/12.
