Upcycling bottles for a festive boost

Customers of the Wheatsheaf, Yarmouth, can look forward to a ‘Merry Gin-mas’.

The pub has put together a Christmas tree made out of 63 Mermaid Gin bottles – with a couple of vodka bottles added to the mix.

Manager, Adrian Evans, said: “I had a gin tree at the King’s Head when I worked there a couple of years ago and it went down very well.

“I thought it would be nice to do it again and a friend put it all together. I particularly like the Mermaid bottles and it’s always nice to upcycle them.

“It’s had a great reaction from our customers who have been taking photographs of it. I did get asked how long it took me to drink the gin – but they are all from the pub, so I had quite a few people giving me some help!”
