Twelve Isle of Wight Council managers earn more than £100,000

Twelve senior managers at the Isle of Wight Council are now earning salaries in excess of £100,000 a year, newly released figures show.

At the top of the pay scale is chief executive, Wendy Perera, whose full‑time equivalent salary stands at £153,236 – around eight times higher than the lowest‑paid roles at County Hall, which start at £19,290.

Just below the chief executive are the strategic directors of adult social care and housing, and of children’s services, who each receive £129,500. The strategic director for community services earns £125,017, while the director of corporate services is paid £120,465. The director of public health receives £116,278.

Other six‑figure roles include senior posts in adult social services, children’s social care, finance, corporate services, community regeneration, and the economy. All carry full‑time equivalent salaries above the £100,000 threshold.

The figures were obtained through a Freedom of Information request and come at a time when the Council continues to face financial pressures, rising demand for services and ongoing recruitment challenges in frontline roles. They place the Island’s senior management pay within the top six per cent of UK earners according to figures released by investment firm, Rathbones.
