Triple Triumph for Bay CE School Girls’ Football Team

The Bay CE School U-13 girls’ football team has had a successful season, securing three out of three medals in the Isle of Wight schools competitions.

The Bay CE School team beat Cowes Enterprise College 1-0 in a nail-biting encounter in the last game of the season. Maisy M scored the winning goal. This victory not only sealed the win on the day, but also capped off an unbeaten league campaign, confirming the U-13s as well-deserved league champions. Winning the Island league also gave them a place at the Hampshire finals, in Southampton, where they finished as runners up.

At the Island 6-a-side competition, held at Cowes Enterprise College, the Year 7 team won all their games, with Jess L and Daisy T playing key roles, scoring all of the team’s goals in the tournament, helping the team to secure the gold medal and top the tournament standings.

At the same tournament, the Year 8 team secured a well-deserved second-place finish.

Charlotte Glenn, PE teacher at The Bay CE School, said: “This has been an outstanding year for The Bay U-13s girls’ football team. Everyone involved should feel immensely proud of the incredible achievements both on and off the pitch.

“Congratulations, girls — your hard work, team-work, and dedication have truly paid off!”
