Totland Christmas event welcomes strong crowd

The crowds turned out in force to take part in this year’s Totland Christmas Fair, on Colwell Common.

The event, organised by Totland Parish Council, took place in glorious sunshine with a touch of winter chill.

The marquee hosted a celebration of crafts, food and drink, and there was entertainment throughout the afternoon from the Ukulele Group, West Wind and the Bay Wailers.

Huxley wowed both children and adults with his amazing magic, and Churches Together in West Wight brought the event to a warm close with traditional Christmas carols around the firepit as the tree lights were switched on.

Totland parish clerk, Helen Gibbs, said: “With 25 talented stall-holders offering beautiful crafts and gifts, there was something for everyone.

“Thank you to everyone for helping make this year’s fair such a success; we can’t wait to see you again next Christmas.”
