Three more COVID-19 deaths on Island

Three more people who had tested positive for coronavirus have died at St Mary’s Hospital over the last 24 hours. The total number of Isle of Wight NHS Trust patients to have died having tested positive for COVID-19 is now 25.

As of today (Thurs), 22 people admitted to St Mary’s Hospital to have tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered and been discharged.

Alistair Flowerdew, Medical Director at Isle of Wight NHS Trust, said: “Sadly, we can confirm three people being cared for at St Mary’s Hospital who had tested positive for coronavirus have died.

“Two men and one woman, aged between 60 and 91, had underlying health conditions. Their families have been informed and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with them all at this difficult and distressing time.”

The number of recorded cases of Coronavirus on the Isle of Wight has risen by three over the 24-hour period up to 6.30pm today, taking the overall total to 107.
