The Unravelling Wilburys bring their unique tribute to Medina

On Thursday (November 20), Medina Theatre will host a night of music, comedy and nostalgia as The Unravelling Wilburys take to the stage.

Legend has it the original Wilbury brothers were a Nashville country band until George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan borrowed their sound and became the legendary Traveling Wilburys. The Unravelling Wilburys have since reclaimed those songs, creating a show that celebrates the hits of both the Wilburys and their famous counterparts.

Audiences can expect classics from the Wilbury albums including Handle with Care, End of the Line, The Devil’s Been Busy and Tweeter & The Monkey Man. The set also features iconic tracks such as Orbison’s Only the Lonely, Petty’s I Won’t Back Down, Harrison’s While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Dylan’s Like a Rolling Stone and Lynne’s Mr. Blue Sky.

The band – Walter, Blind Melon, Sticky Willy, Thumper and Reverend Honky Tonk Wilbury – mix superb musicianship with tongue‑in‑cheek humour, the kind only a group spending too many nights in Travelodge hotels could dream up. From the Orkney Islands to South Wales, the Unravelling Wilburys have packed theatres nationwide. Now they return to the Island to deliver a musical journey audiences won’t forget in a hurry.

Tickets are available from Medina Theatre’s box office on 823884 or via iw.observer/wilburys – don’t miss this chance to sing along with the Wilburys.
