The landlords of the popular The Taverners, Godshill, are to leave the pub when their lease expires next month.

Tim and Emma Foster took over the pub in 2019, having previously run The Three Buoys in Appley.

In a Facebook post, the couple say they started their first business with new-born twins, and want to focus on them now they are in secondary school. Making the announcement with ‘a heavy heart’, they said: “Running The Taverners and The Three Buoys has been an incredible journey filled with amazing friendships and unforgettable memories. We are truly grateful for the support of everyone over the years.

“As we prepare to close this chapter, we would love for you to join us in saying goodbye over the next few weeks. Our final day will be Saturday, October 5, for lunch service. We can’t wait to see you all soon!”

Any booked tables, quiz nights and Christmas party reservations beyond October 5 will remained scheduled.
