Management at staff at Ryde’s Subway at 72 Union St are celebrating after being awarded the highest food hygiene rating with a 5, scoring its operations, confidence in management and in-store hygiene as ‘Very Good’ after a recent visit from the Environmental Health team.
Owner Hugh Wastnage, who fully refitted the store in August 2019 to the new Fresh Forward design, was delighted with the endorsement from the local authority. He said: “The level of Subway standards, and the strict operational procedures we follow should always result in a 5 rating. I am pleased to now have this confirmed on the door for our customers to view for themselves, and I hope it will give new and returning customers the confidence to visit us in Union St to see our new look store and enjoy our delicious and ever-changing menu.”
This recent rating now gives both Subway’s on the island a 5 rating after Town Lane, Newport received the same score in March last year.
