Gardening tools and spring flowers in the garden. Gardening concept.

Spring is in the air and the garden is starting to grow!

The Green Garden Waste Collection Service is now open to new subscribers. With many customers already receiving this great service, it is now being extended so they can collect from even more homes.

Island resident, Bill, 74, from Newchurch, said: “My garden is about 40 metres (130 ft) long and is mainly lawn surrounded by shrubs and trees, but still generates a lot of waste. The collection service is great, really reliable and saves me visits to the tip. It also represents extremely good value.”

The 2022-2023 annual subscription will be ÂŁ96, or ÂŁ8 monthly via direct debit. Payments are one year subscription by credit or debit card (not automatically renewed), annual direct debit collected on April 10 (automatic renewal), or direct debit collected over 12 months on day 10 of each month (automatic renewal).

You can subscribe on iow.gov.uk/residents/environment-planning-and-waste/waste-and-recycling/green-garden-waste/tasks. You must subscribe by Friday, March 18 to join the service. Complete the on-line form or, if you are unable, call 823777. Direct debit subscriptions can only be processed on-line.

Pick up your IW Observer next week for details on how to win one of three annual subscriptions – absolutely free! If you’ve already signed up your fee will be refunded.
