Sandown & Lake kept their nerve to win their Hants semi-final, and Cowes Res won a 13-goal cup classic. There were hat-tricks for High Park’s Alex Harvey, Ryde Saints’ Josh Tombleson, and Ventnor’s Jason Kennett, and Wessex points for East Cowes Vics and Cowes. The Eagles narrowly lost at home.
Cups
In the Hants Vase, Sandown & Lake Reserves came back from a goal behind to draw 1-1 away at Hampton, with a Jimmy Golding goal. They went on to win 3-2 on penalties, to reach the final. Winning penalties were scored by Danny Cowburn, Alex Breingan and Jared Jones.
West Wight lost their their semi-final shoot-out 4-3, after drawing 1-1 at home to AFC Solent. The first-half goal came from Jordan Flynn in front of a 100-strong crowd. Yellow cards were picked up by Connal Groom and Robbie Simmonds.
Whitecroft & Barton won their Memorial Cup Quarter Final at Bembridge 5-0, with a first-half strike from Coner Lyon, and second-half goals from Aidan Sainsbury, Harrison Taylor, yellow-carded Kade Woodford, and sub, Alex Wright.
Brading progressed after winning 4-0 at home to Binstead COB, with Isaac Glynn, Aaron Bennett (2) and Alex Biorand on the scoresheet.
Cowes Sports Res won 7-6 away to Vectis, with consolation goals from Ben Cutts (2), Sam Kirby (2), Chris Turner and Louis Newsham.
High Park won their penalty shoot-out 4-2 at East Cowes Sports, after the match finished 3-3, with goals from John Robjant, Harley Turner and Kyle Kilroy.
IW Divisions One and Two
Northwood won 1-0 at home to Shanklin, and move above the Seasiders into sixth place in Division One.
In Division Two, Newchurch won 4-0 away at Niton, with 2 goals apiece from veteran, Keith Rust, and Aaron Doncaster.
Combinations One and Two
Combination One leaders, W&B Res, extended their lead after winning 2-1 at home to Ventnor Res, with goals from Jack Ewbank and Dan Pearson. Bradley Verstraeten gave the visitors an early lead.
An Alex Harvey hat-trick, an own goal with a goal apiece for Max Sampson, Sol Carson and Brendan Arnold saw High Park Res win 7-2 at home to Shanklin Res. They scored first-half goals through a stunning Matt Lambourne shot and a Keenan Phillips strike.
A late penalty saw Bembridge Res win 2-1 away at Binstead COB Res.
In Combination Two, 4 goals from Josh Tombleson gave Ryde Saints a 4-3 away win at High Park A, whose goals came from Stan Harrison, Scott Parker and Jack Robertson. High Park put in a complaint against Ryde Saints for calling off their first team match at Smallbrook.
Vectis Res won 3-2 away at Bembridge A, with 2 goals from Bubacarr Touray and 1 from Jack Dockrell, with Jack White picking up a yellow card.
Oakfield Res were awarded a home win against Niton Res.
After a goal-less first half, Ventnor A won 5-1 away at Newchurch Res, with a hat-trick from Jason Kennett, and goals from Tom Squires and Matt Ellis. Irving Pedreschi was on target for ‘Church.
Wessex
Cowes drew 0-0 at home to Sherborne Town in the Premier Division, with John McKie hitting the post from a free-kick, a goal disallowed for off-side, and Harrison Dempsey named player-of-the-match.
East Cowes Vics won 2-0 away at Cove, with sub, Jacob Reynolds, grabbing both goals in the last 15 minutes.
Newport lost 2-1 away at Verwood Town, with Ji Nash scoring.
Midweek matches saw Cowes away at Brockenhurst, who took an early lead. The Yachtsmen equalised on 25 minutes, with Jared Tout-Walters finishing from close range after the keeper saved a Scott McFarlane shot, with Tout-Walters adding a second with a back-post header with 20 minutes left. Cowes managed the last 10 minutes bringing on subs and seeing Brock having a player sin-binned and finishing with 10 players, leaving the Islanders with 3 points.
Vics, in Division One, lost 2-1 at home to Folland Sports. They went a goal behind after 5 minutes, and levelled through an Elliot Wheeler corner on 48 minutes. All this, only to see Folland re-take and keep the lead until the final whistle.
Newport drew 0-0 away at Totton & Eling, after a goal-less first half with few clear cut chances. Neo Lamb struck the bar on the hour and then had a goal disallowed, with Newport disappointed not to score as the match ended in stalemate. Kai Grace put in a player-of-the-match performance.

This weekend in Wessex, Cowes host Bournemouth, Newport are home to Whitchurch, with Vics away at Ringwood Town.
IW Division One sees Northwood welcome Brading, Osborne Coburg host W&B, Shanklin play Binstead COB, Vectis face Bembridge, and West Wight entertain Ventnor.
The second division will see High Park host Seaview, Niton home to Newport Res, with Sandown & Lake facing Oakfield.
