Ryde was treated to an evening of live entertainment as Glamour, Sparkle & Cabaret took to the stage at The Department on January 30.

The show featured a mix of dance and variety performances, with group numbers and solo acts presented throughout the evening. Performers from Embracing Dance Diamonds delivered a series of routines alongside guest acts, with the event compered across the night.

Organisers said the event attracted a strong and supportive audience, helping create an energetic atmosphere for the performers on stage.

As well as showcasing local talent, the evening also supported a charitable cause, raising £400 for “Freddie to Kenya”. The funds will support a young man taking part in an expedition to Kenya, where he will spend time living and working within local communities.

Event organiser Laura Holme said she was proud of those involved and thanked those who attended for their support.

Plans are already in place for further performances, along with workshops and classes, as organisers look to continue offering opportunities for the community to take part in live entertainment.
