A photographer and painter, who has been stuck at home in Banbury and has been longing to get back to her favourite Island, has published a photographic book of the West Wight.
Rosy Burke says she has been dreaming of strolling along the beach at Compton or walking The Downs with the blue butterflies. So she has done the next best thing and published ‘Compton – from the skies to the seas – a love letter to the landscape’.

Rosy said: “I’m so pleased the book is giving so many people pleasure. It is crammed with photos and stories I gave gathered from those who love the West Wight as much as I do.
“I want readers to feel they are with me on the shore or the Downs, feeling the exhilaration of the outdoors and the beauty of it all.
“Lots of people have told me funny and interesting stories on my many visits, which I wanted to share for others to enjoy. The book has had a really positive reaction from Islanders.”
The 40-page book is in colour with more than 140 photos and illustrations and is written in poetry prose. It costs ÂŁ15 inc post and packing from comptoniow.uk.
