Robin James, in Champasak, has won the Royal Solent Yacht Club’s annual Prince Consort Charity Race – his third victory in the event over the years.

Robin’s boat was one of 28 to take part in challenging conditions on an amended course starting at Quinell buoy via H buoy.

Despite the early start, it was not quite early enough and the tide changed too soon for everyone – except Robin. He was the only racer to complete the course, sailing his Dufour 32 single-handed to an emphatic victory.
