Revised plans for Donkey Field home

A new application has been submitted to revise plans for a controversial single‑storey home, on land locally known as the Donkey Field in Seaview. The original application drew 109 objections when it was approved in 2024.

The latest submission has been lodged by planning agents BCM Wilson Hill, on behalf of the applicants, and seeks to vary several conditions attached to the existing permission. The earlier approval established the principle of a dwelling on the agricultural paddock, with works now lawfully under way.

The agents describe the changes as a “modest” increase in size, replacing the previously approved L‑shaped layout with a “more efficient” rectangular form. The width would increase by 6m (20ft), using space originally planned for a patio, while the depth would reduce by 1.3m. The height remains the same, and the stone and timber cladding already agreed with the council would be retained. A central lightwell and refined elevations form part of the updated design.

Revised drainage, landscaping, boundary treatments and bin/cycle storage plans have also been submitted to reflect the new layout.

The application can be viewed via iw.observer/planning‑portal. Consultation is open until February 27, under planning reference 26/00075/RVC.
