The Isle of Wight Council has delayed the date for parents to register their children for primary school places due to the ongoing place planning consultion, which is likely to lead to the closure of some schools.
Secondary school admissions will be live from tomorrow (Monday, September 16), and close at midnight on Thursday, October 31. National Offer Day is March 3, 2025.
For admissions to primary school in September 2025 – the process opens on Monday, November 18 and closes at midnight Wednesday, January 15, 2025. National Offer Day is April 16, 2025.
Councillor Jonathan Bacon, cabinet member for children’s services and education said: “The decision has been made to postpone the date for primary school admissions this year to allow extra time to support school staff through the sensitivities of this process. Giving them the space needed to process recent information and to help ensure everyone’s wellbeing is our priority.’’
