Police release CCTV images related to shoplifting cases

CCTV relating to the Ryde and Newport incidents.

Police have released CCTV of suspects wanted in two separate shoplifting incidents at Tesco stores on the Isle of Wight. The first took place at Tesco Express, in Wootton Bridge, where, between 12.10pm and 12.15pm on Tuesday, December 2, a woman reportedly entered the High Street store and left with around £89 worth of groceries without paying.

Following enquiries, officers have issued an image of a woman they believe may be able to assist with the investigation. She is described as white, aged between 50 and 60, of large build, with long blonde hair worn in a bun. She was seen wearing a calf‑length green sleeveless hooded puffa coat, dark‑rimmed glasses, UGG‑style boots, a black leather‑style backpack, and a cream‑coloured hoodie. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting 44250547482.

In a separate incident, police are also investigating a reported £200 shoplifting, at Tesco Extra, on Brading Road in Ryde. This occurred between 4.40pm and 5.30pm on Monday, November 24, when a woman is said to have entered the store and left without paying for items worth around £200. Officers have released CCTV of a second woman who may be able to assist with this enquiry. She is described as white, aged between 30 and 40, of slim build, with straight, shoulder‑length red or brown hair. She was wearing a white fleecy oversized hooded jacket, blue jeans, black knee‑length boots, and red lipstick. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting 44250531411.
