Northwood Jubilee Picnic in the Park

By IW Observer.co.uk May 30, 2022

A free community event, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, will take place in Cowes on Sunday, June 5, from 12noon. The official Jubilee ‘Picnic in the Park’ will be hosted by Northwood House and Park and has been made possible from contributions from Cowes Town Council and the town’s sailing and yacht clubs.

Islanders and visitors are invited to bring a picnic to eat in the park, where there will be a programme of live music on the Northwood House lawn stage, including a performance from G4’s Mike Christie. There will also be an arena of fun childrens’ entertainment in the park with races, dancing, and games. A dog show will also be running from 2pm with nine classes to enter your four-legged friend in. The event will be opened by the Island’s High Sheriff, Kay Marriott, at midday and will run through the afternoon.

There will also be a selection of Island charity and community stands to support, a licensed bar, barbeque and tea garden.
