The star of BBC’s DIY SOS, Nick Knowles, is to appear on Channel 5 for the first time, after landing a brand-new show format and is looking for Islanders who would like to take part.
Knowles will bring his home improvement knowledge to the programme, which has a working title of Nick Knowles: Your Life on Your Lawn. The series of six hour-long shows will see the presenter empty a cluttered home of its belongings, before guiding each family through a “cathartic and emotional” decluttering process. Nick said that Channel 5 has been “making such good shows currently” that it is “a no brainer to join in” .
After decluttering, the rooms will be given a make-over, giving the families more space for features such as home offices or cinema rooms.
The production team are currently looking for Islanders to appear in the show. A spokeswoman said: “We are looking for families who need a declutter, maybe someone who has a lifetime of possessions and doesn’t know where to start. We will send Nick and a wonderful team who will transform two rooms, redecorate, declutter and hopefully help the family fall back in love with their home. We’ll find lovely possessions they’ve forgotten they owned and bring them back to life.”

The series is produced by Viacom International Studios, with head of factual and features Oliver Wright executive producing. It was commissioned by commissioning editor Guy Davies.
