New crew and some new roles for Bembridge RNLI

Bembridge RNLI is celebrating after welcoming new crew members who have passed their training.

Among them is Amy Attrill, now an official shore crew member. She joined the team last year, inspired by her husband, John, the station’s resident mechanic. Amy wanted to carry on the long family tradition of being part of the RNLI.

Another shore crew member is Stewart Churchyard, who has been part of the team for 18 months. As a postman, he understands the value of community and joined the RNLI ‘out of his love for boats and helping others’.

Meanwhile Steve Shadbolt, who has been with the crew for five years, is now an inshore lifeboat head launcher, along with Guy Mason, previously been part of the shore crew, who has been at the station for four years.
