Around 300 people took part in the eighth March of the Mods in Ryde on Saturday, walking from venue to venue along the sea-front whilst being entertained by DJs and bands
Along the route, which started at Ryde Pavilion, money was raised for charities Teenage Cancer Trust and Tonic – Music for Mental Health.
Bands included locals, Audio Ghosts, Three Minute Heroes, and The Dead Perrys, plus from Coventry, The Danny Ansell Band, and from across the south coast, Butterfly Collective.
Venues visited were The Royal Esplanade Hotel and The Veteran, finishing off the 12 hours of ’60s to ’90s Mod, Soul and Ska music back at Ryde Pavilion.
Organizer, Steve Robson, said: “It’s a fantastic day with a great, friendly atmosphere, and it still surprises me how many people complete the whole 12-hour day!
“We raised nearly £4,000 for our charities, with £35,000 being raised since we started the event. I would like to thank all the DJs and bands who gave up their time for free to help make it such a successful day.”
March of the Mods will be back next March.
