A man has been charged as part of a child sex offence investigation on the Island.
Police have been making enquiries following an allegation made to police on Sunday, February 2, of rape and grooming offences.
Ryan Loveday, aged 20, of Valetta Way in Medway, Kent, was arrested at the Travelodge in Lind Street, Ryde, on February 2 and has since been charged with
- Offender over 18 engage in penetrative sexual activity with a girl 13-15 years of age
- Offender aged 18 or over engage in non-penetrative activity with a girl aged 13-15
- Attempted sexual assault by penetration of a girl 13 or over.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at IOW Magistrates Court on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
