If you could use your ability to play the piano to help raise money for good causes, and at the same time make a new group of friends, Newchurch Male Voice Choir would love to hear from you.
The Island’s only traditional male voice choir is in need of a pianist to accompany their weekly practices and the performances they put on throughout the year. Their concerts are used to raise much-needed funds for charities and good causes – in January they presented a cheque for £1,400 to the stroke unit at St Mary’s Hospital.
Rehearsals take place at Newchurch Village Hall every Friday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. As well as the charitable side of their efforts, they are a supportive and sociable group of men, who enjoy sharing their love of making music. Any budding singers would also be welcome.
If you’d like to find out more, email newchurchmvc@yahoo.co.uk or sheelahstephens@yahoo.co.uk , or pop along to one of their rehearsals to have a chat. They’d love to welcome new members to the friendly male voice choir family.
