Make a difference and see the best of the IW

By Press Release Mar 2, 2024

If you’re looking forward to doing something different as the warmer weather returns, then why not brave the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge, scheduled for May 4 and 5.

Age UK Isle of Wight are looking for some fabulous fundraisers to walk, jog or run to raise money.

You’ll join a diverse group of up to 2,000 adventurers, at all levels of experience, who will select their desired distance, with options ranging from a modest Medina Estuary walk of 10 miles, with a cross-Island option and quarter, half, or three-quarter lengths of the Island’s coastal path, culminating in the full 66 mile (106 km) challenge for the bravest and fittest souls. There’s an Isle of Wight Challenge for everyone

The course itself is a spectacle, winding along striking southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles, and reaching historic Cowes at the half-way mark. For those attempting the Full Island challenge, the adventure continues towards the cliffs of Ventnor, concluding at the welcoming base camp in Chale. With comprehensive support and hospitality provided.

Age UK IW is encouraging individuals, friends, family members, or groups to take on this challenge in support of the charity’s vital work. And importantly – all money raised stays on the Island to help older residents who need help.
For those interested in making a difference, further details on fundraising, costs, and sign-up procedures are available via iw.observer/iwchallengeforageuk.

When registering, remember to select Age UK Isle of Wight from the Listed Charities section.
