The latest £10,000 winner of the Isle of Wight Lottery has been announced.

Wayland Barker, a supporter of the lottery for more than 20 years, was presented with a cheque for £10,000 after his number was drawn in the latest weekly prize.
“It came as a complete surprise,” said Wayland, who plans to use the windfall to take a well-earned cruise.

By playing the Isle of Wight Lottery, thousands of Islanders help support the Island’s economy from just £1 per week. The lottery helps create local jobs by offering interest-free loans to Island-based businesses and start-ups, which in turn supports families and employment.

Since its launch in 2001, the lottery has helped to create more than 450 jobs and has loaned more than £1.3 million to local organisations.

Each week, players are in with a chance of winning £1,000, along with ten £100 prizes. The next major draw will take place on Thursday, July 18, with a £5,000 top prize on offer.
Megan Barrett, of the Isle of Wight Lottery, said: “We’re over the moon to surprise Wayland with £10,000. We are so thankful that he continued to play all this time and support the Isle of Wight Lottery.”
