Knitted aquarium bringing joy to care home residents

By Press Release Aug 16, 2021

Residents from a Newport care home have been presented with a ‘knitted aquarium’, donated by the charity Embracing Age and co-ordinated by Rebecca Savage.

This is the first aquarium the charity has created and everything in it has been knitted for Orchard House by volunteers from as far away as Australia. Debbie Webb, of Orchard House, said: “The wonderful knitting community have been very busy making all sorts of things you would find under the sea from mermaids to oysters complete with pearl.

“The more you look, the more you see. Our residents were thrilled to receive this and it will bring joy to them for years to come. We are incredibly grateful to Rebecca and Embracing Age for this fabulous gift.”
