The Community Spirited Christmas Fayre helped raise nearly £1,000 for the East Cowes charity.
On sale were cakes and refreshments, craft stalls and lots of competitions, including ‘guess the giant teddy’s name’ and a giant tombola, and there were free games for the children including hoopla, a beanbag game, and guess how many sweets in the jar.
Jane Allchorn, from Community Spirited, which helps care for adults in their own home within East Cowes and Wootton, said: “The children all enjoyed a sweet treat from Santa (Kevin Allchorn), with thanks to our community for gifting them.
“The volunteers were amazing, and we are so thankful to everyone who came, despite the weather. We raised an amazing £953 for our little, but mighty, charity.”
The charity is also organising a ‘Yuletide Folkies’ evening at East Cowes Town Hall, on Friday, December 19, at 7pm.
Entertainment is provided by Second Time Around and The Anywhens, tickets £6; bring your own drinks and nibbles. Tickets from the Community Spirited Cafe & Craft 101, Parkside Pavilion, Vectis Road.
