Island camper, Alan Wershat, celebrated his 100th birthday with a surprise camp-out at Retro Staycations, near Ryde, on Saturday.
Alan, of Shanklin, was joined by family, friends, and fellow members of Wight Campers, a community of camping and vanlife enthusiasts, for the weekend celebration.
He and his wife, Pat, are regular visitors to the site, and a convoy of campervans gathered to mark his milestone birthday.
The celebration included vinyl music sets from Adam Brown, creating a nostalgic atmosphere for the occasion. Alan was also joined by his daughter, Nadine, and his 16-year-old grandson, Harrison, who stopped off during a cycle ride around the Island.
Alan, who had not been told the full scale of the event, joked to Pat: “You never told me I was 100!”
Sarah Moss, co-owner of Retro Staycations, said: “We always like to make a fuss of guests on their birthday, but to have one of our camping regulars reach his milestone 100th birthday was cause for a real celebration.
“It was lovely to welcome everyone to the site to mark this very special occasion.”
