Increase in parking fees

By IW Observer.co.uk Apr 27, 2022

Changes to the overnight pay-and-display parking charges are being rolled out across the Island this month.

Over the next couple of weeks, the Isle of Wight Council will be updating signs and ticket machine software to accommodate changes which will see overnight parking charges adjusted to ÂŁ2 until October 31. The charge will revert to ÂŁ1 from November 1 to March 31, 2023.

Motorists are advised to check the tariff board or ticket machine signage.

It is estimated changes to on- and off-street overnight parking charges will generate around ÂŁ80,000 to help fund other essential council services.

Residents who live within 200 metres of a pay-and-display car park can purchase a discounted permit to park there for ÂŁ198 per year, which equates to around ÂŁ3.80 per week.
