A Newport woman who had her head shaved for charity on Saturday said afterwards: “I’m never growing long hair again!”
Helen Leggatt, a waitress at The Eight Bells, Carisbrooke, raised £3,000 for Mountbatten, exceeding her original target of £2,000. Her head shave was part of the Carisbrooke summer fair celebrations, and she said: “It was absolutely amazing. There was a sea of people cheering.
“I’ve always had long hair but I feel brilliant. Now I don’t have to find a hairbrush or put it up into a bob or sort it for work. I’ll never have long hair again.”
Helen’s hair was cut by Jay Ravenscroft of Squires Barber Shop, Newport.
