Island Divisions One and Two
Division One’s Whitecroft & Barton move to top the table, following their 3-2 home win over Brading, with Harrison Taylor, Fin Kalaker and Sam Cant securing a 3-0 lead. The Romans replied, through a Dan Vale double in the second half, with a player-of-the-match performance from Dan Johnson.
Shanklin drew 3-3 away at Osborne Coburg, with Carl Phillipson (2) and Harry Green scoring for Coburg, and Cory Sanderson (2) and Fin Lloyd replying for the visitors.
West Wight won 2-0 away at Binstead COB, with Aiden Jones and Blake Reeves scoring early in the second half.
Northwood drew 2-2 at home to Bembridge, with goals from Leo Jones and Leigh McKenzie. Bridge’s goals came from Brandon Tuckey and Jordan Browne, who has recently signed for Cowes, moving from Newport in the Wessex League.
Cowes Res won 5-2 at home to Vectis, with strikes from Jayden Long (2), and 1 each from Jacob Harris, Connor Furmidge and Charlie Haward.
In Division Two, John Robjant scored for leaders, High Park, in their 1-0 win away at 2nd-placed East Cowes Sports.
Oakfield won 8-1 at home to Seaview, with a hat-trick for Ben Gardener, and 1 each from Cian McGee, Char Wood, Jay Larbalestier, Jamie Phillips and Callum Fawn. Brandon Smith’s penalty was the consolation goal.
Niton won 10-2 away at Newport Res, with Toby Richardson’s first goal in senior soccer, 1 each from Lewis Evans, Brandon Thomas, and Jared Cousins, and 2 apiece from Cruz Wragg, Ishanesu Goredema and Josh Edgerton.
Combinations One and Two
Sandown Res beat Combination One leaders, East Cowes Sports Res, 8-0 at the Bay, with Rob Iley hitting a hat-trick, and a goal apiece for Dylan Andrews, Aaron Burford, Rowenn Churchill, Michael Smart and sub, Connor Gudgin.
Second-placed West Wight Res drew 1-1 at home to Bembridge Res, with Theo Sampson giving the visitors a first-half lead, and George Saunders levelling after the break.
Ventnor Res won 4-1 at home to Shanklin Res, with first-half goals from Nathan Barlow, Harry Mulholland and Euan Sargent, with Mulholland adding another after the break. Shanklin replied through stalwart Ryan Hill.
Northwood Res 3-0 won away at Brading Res, with Joe Tigwell, Ryan Gardner and Chad Oatley on target for Northwood.
In Combination Two, leaders Niton Res came back from 3-0, to win 4-3 at home to Oakfield Res, with 2 goals apiece from Tom Brownrigg and Tony Potts.
Ryde Saints played a dour home draw with West Wight A.
Jason Pengelly’s hat-trick, including a penalty, alongside Charlie Sharpe’s strike, saw Osborne Coburg A win 4-2 away at Sandown & Lake A. They responded through second-half Eddie Johnson’s, and sub, Chris Dowsett’s goals.
Two goals each for Sonny Mulholland and Harley Kennett, and 1 apiece from Rhys Burtenshaw and Jason Kennett, helped Ventnor A win 6-5 away at High Park A. High Park’s goals were from Reece Galloway (2), Keaton Clinton (2) and Tony Bates.
Newchurch Res narrowly won 3-2 away at Vectis Res, on St Helens Green, with Pat Haxell and Ciaran Gibson (2) on target for ‘Church, and Bubacarr Touray and Cameron Kayode replying for Vectis. They saw make-shift keeper, James Brewer, pulling off a string of saves to keep Vectis in the match.
Wessex
Cowes lost 3-1 away at Wincanton Town, in the Premier Division, with Callum Chase’s header getting the second-half consolation goal.
In Division One, Vics won 3-0 away at Aldermaston, with goals from Liam Newbold, Scott Jones and sub, Ben Cutts, a former Vectis player.
Newport won 5-1 at home to Totton & Eling, with Ji Nash netting a hat-trick, and 1 each from Henry West and Joe Craig, with new club captain, Macauley Watterson, announced before kick-off.
Midweek Football
In the Wessex League Cup, East Cowes Vics progress to the fourth round after winning 3-2 away at Verwood Town, with first half goals from Scott Jones and Jacob Reynolds, and the winner coming from Caleb Neale after the break.
Newport won their IW Gold Cup match 7-0 at home to Northwood, with a hat-trick from prolific Ji Nash, and one apiece from Joe Craig, Kai Grace, Brad Young and sub, Henry West.
Fixtures
Saturday sees Cowes welcoming Portchester in the Premier league, with 4th-placed Vics at home to Ash United and 6th-placed Newport away at New Milton in Division One.
On the Island, Brading welcome Osborne Coburg, Northwood face Ventnor, and Vectis are home to Shanklin in Division One.
East Cowes Sports are home to Niton, High Park welcome Sandown & Lake, Newchurch entertain Seaview, Pan host Newport Res, and Ryde Saints face Oakfield.
Combination One sees Binstead COB Res home to Osborne Coburg Res, and High Park Res welcome Bembridge Res. Sandown & Lake Res are home in the derby with Shanklin Res, West Wight Res face Brading Res, and W&B Res entertain East Cowes Sports Res.

Sunday sees the long awaited cup-clash between Shanklin Ladies and high-flying Wight Eagles in the quarter final of the Invitation Cup, at the County Ground. Wight Eagles will be hoping to bounce back after losing 2-1 away at AFC Totton, with a goal from player-of-the-match, Georgia Dye.
