Cowes company Yokogawa Marex is approaching its 60th birthday and is looking for any former employees who are still living on the Isle of Wight.
The company is planning a celebration of its diamond anniversary in November and wants to re-connect with its past workforce so they can be part of the event.
The journey began when Marine Exploration was formed in Cowes back in 1966, before later becoming Marex then part of the worldwide Yokogawa Marex company.
Its early work centred around data buoys for the offshore oil exploration field before its expertise in telemetry and statistical analysis naturally moved it towards industry-leading software development.
Since being acquired by Yokogawa in 1997, the company has become a leader in process information technology.
Divisional director Wayne Matthews said: “I am privileged to be the divisional head of this worldwide business that has its roots very much grounded on the Isle of Wight and which continues to thrive here.
“Over the years, through a series of mergers and changes, the company has evolved into what is now a worldwide high-tech company – part of the wider Tokyo-based Yokogawa group, which employs 18,000 people and has a turnover of $4 billion (£2.9 million) a year.
“We want to invite former colleagues from across the six decades to a 60th birthday event later in the year.
