Flour Power! Host your own Cakes4Cancer event in March

By IW Observer.co.uk Feb 14, 2022

If you enjoy baking, Wessex Cancer Trust’s Isle of Wight Support Centre would love you to host a Cakes4Cancer event in March to raise money to support local families living with cancer.

Across the region between March 1 and March 31, Cakes4Cancer is a simple way to come together with friends, family or colleagues, in person or virtually, and ‘bake’ a difference by asking for a donation in return or a cup of tea and cake.

Wessex Cancer Trust’s Sally Hillyear said: “We’re passionate about the community at Wessex Cancer Trust and believe everyone living with cancer should be able to get free and local emotional support whenever they need it.
“Cakes4Cancer is all about people coming together to enjoy something delicious for a great cause. Your event can be as big or small as you want, either in person or virtual. You could put on a coffee morning at work, host an afternoon tea with friends or organise a bake sale at your local school. Whether it’s faked or baked, every cake sold could help change someone’s life for the better. It really is a piece of cake!”

The charity has put together a free kit with everything you need to host your own event, with lots of ideas, cake toppers, posters, bunting, recipe cards and a gift aid form.
