The annual Yarmouth fireworks night, organised by the Carnival Committee, takes place on Wednesday from 6pm. Meet in The Square, there will be a torchlit parade up to The Common (where the fireworks will be set off from a pontoon). The guy competition will also take place, with all guys displayed in front of the Town Hall, between November 1-5. There will be a collection for the fireworks. Other fireworks displays, on Wednesday, will be at The Isle of Wight Community Club, Park Road, in Cowes (6pm, with free entry, food being served, and the display around 8pm), and at the Spyglass Inn, Ventnor, where the display starts at 7pm and can be viewed from the pub or along The Esplanade.
Meanwhile, tomorrow (Saturday), there is a display art Blackgang Chine with tickets costing £15.95. People under one metre, and carers, go free. Next Saturday (November 8), Mountbatten’s display takes place at Robin Hill. Doors open at 2.30pm for a range of entertainment and food, with the display commencing from 7pm. Visitors are encouraged to dress up sparkly and bring glow in the dark accessories!
There will also be a display in Ryde, on Wednesday, at Oakfield Primary School, Appley Lane gates open at 5.30pm for 7pm display (£5 entry, cash only, all children must be accompanied by an adult. No parking on site. Hot food and sweet treats, viewing area, bring a torch).
