Freshwater firemen got more than they bargained for when they visited West Wight Nursery in Totland on Monday 29th March
It was the crew’s first community engagement event for a year and children were able to play with the fire hoses resulting in some wet firefighters.
A spokesman said: “We showed the children the fire engine and allowed them to squirt a ‘few’ drops of water!
“We made sure there was a strict sanitise of the fire engine and equipment, minimal crew and PPE before and after the session.
“We were so pleased to be able to bring a bit of normality and fun to the nursery with our first community event for a year. The happy faces say it all. Even though restrictions are easing today please stay safe out there.”
