Wight Wahines enjoyed a surf festival with fun competitions, beach games, a serious competition and a fun surf, at Compton Bay on Saturday.
The festival, to celebrate female surfers, is the brainchild of Madi Dew, who explained: “The idea for Wight Wahines Surf Fest came from the want to celebrate the thriving female surf scene on the Island.
“Through our experiences travelling and surfing, we came to realise that the Island had an unparalleled female surf scene.
“In the morning, we might have outnumbered men in the sea and the atmosphere was really chill and great vibes all around.
“To make it a special day, we collaborated with other great businesses on the Island, and invited Balance & Glo, and Emma from IW Pilates, to teach yoga and a pilates class. Basically, we organised our favourite day – surf, yoga, pilates and even a sauna.”
