A Shalfleet Primary School pupil has had 17-inches of his hair chopped off for charity.
Alfie Wagstaff, eight, has raised “an amazing” £700 for Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat and donated his hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes hairpieces for children who have lost their hair through illness.
After Alfie, who has not had a haircut since he was four, came up with his idea of helping the charities, he had his locks cut by Leroy of The Barber Room, Totland.
Alfie then handed over the money to the lifeboat crew who presented him with a fund-raising certificate and a bag of RNLI goodies.
Shalfleet Head, Lizzie Grainger, said: “It was an amazing achievement by Alfie, we are so proud of you.”
