A 1.30am ferry, to get to the Malvern Autumn Show for the British Saddleback Championships, proved well worth the effort for Sharon and David Groves.
Their pig, Watchingwell Dominator 130, was awarded the ultimate accolade of Champion of Champions after competing in a very large class of pigs that had qualified from all over the country.
Dylan, as he is known at home, brought the prestigious trophy and sash back to the Island after showing himself off beautifully for his handlers, Sharon Groves and Oliver Lightfoot.
Renowned saddleback breeder, Edward Bailey, judged the class, making Dylan, as a senior boar, the best Saddleback in the country.
Sharon said: “This is the second time Dylan has lifted this wonderful accolade, having done it as a young pig in 2018. We are so proud of him”.
