Day at the Bay raises £5,000

A ‘Day at the Bay’ helped raise £5,000 for Freshwater Independent Lifeboat on Sunday.

A large crowd enjoyed local group, The Accelerators, and made the most of the good weather on the green outside the lifeboat house and on the beach.

Principal fund-raiser, Rod Adams, confirmed: “This year’s event raised over £5,000, which will be a great addition to our operating and proposed new boat house extension costs.

“But of course, it was always intended as a community event involving other local charities and emergency services. It enabled us all to showcase what we do, but give the whole community a great day out as well. I think the pictures displayed on social media speak for themselves.

“We must say a huge thank you to all our stall-holders, sponsors, volunteers and supporters, for making it such a great success.”
