TV personality and comedian, Jack Whitehall, and his father, Michael, dropped into the Museum of Ryde in the Royal Arcade on Saturday.

The pair star in the road trip television series, Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, and were able to browse through the famous Donald McGill ‘Saucy Seaside’ Postcard Museum. They were happy to pose for a photograph with the museum’s chairman, Brian Harris.

Jack described discovering the museum as the highlight of his father’s bank holiday weekend. “Unlike my sophisticated wit, my father’s humour has been heavily inspired by McGill – raunchy, inappropriate and throbbing with innuendo,” he added.

Donald designed more than 12,000 cards, and sold millions, but died almost penniless.

Jack also spent some family time at Ticket to Ryde, on the seafront at Eastern Gardens, organised by Jack Up Events. As well as the music, he enjoyed home-made Mac & Cheese from Islander, Wendy Pullan’s Mac Shack, followed by dessert from Island Sweet Dreams. All the traders at the event were Island based.
