Cherry Godfrey has expanded its presence on the Isle of Wight, after acquiring the mortgage, life insurance and general insurance clients of Ryde-based Ward House Mortgages and Life.
The deal means Cherry Godfrey will now service Ward House’s existing clients, including mortgage advice, life insurance reviews and general insurance renewals.
Ward House Mortgages and Life has operated as a family-run business for more than 35 years, supporting Islanders with mortgage and protection advice.
Cherry Godfrey said the move would ensure continuity for Ward House clients from its UK head office in Newport, while also giving them access to its wider range of financial services.
Michael Ward, founder of Ward House Mortgages and Life, said he had decided to begin stepping back after many years advising clients.
He said it had been “extremely important” to find a business with the same values, experience, and community focus, adding that Cherry Godfrey was “a perfect fit”. As part of the transition, Mr Ward will join Cherry Godfrey as a non-executive director to help support the handover.
Cherry Godfrey has been established for more than 32 years, and provides mortgages, personal and business finance, life insurance and general insurance. The company operates on the Isle of Wight, in Southampton, Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man.
Chief executive, David Cherry, said the firm was delighted to welcome Ward House clients, and that its priority was to ensure a smooth transition and long-term support.
He added that the agreement reflected the firm’s continued investment in the Isle of Wight, and its commitment to local consumers and businesses.
