With the end of the season approaching , Whitecroft and Barton confirmed it would be retaining the Division One title, with High Park finishing at the top of Division Two before returning to Division One. There were 5 goals for West Wight’s Jordan Flynn, and a win for Newport in Wessex.
Divisions One and Two
W&B won 2-0 away at relegated Binstead COB, with goals from Sam Cant and Harry Taylor.
Harry Mulholland and Charlie Urry (2) were on target in Ventnor’s 3-2 win at home to Cowes Reserves, whose consolation goals were scored by Hercules Lovett-Fener and Joe Calder.
Joe Shaw inspired Vectis to a 2-1 away win at Shanklin, with the seasiders taking an early lead through a Fin Lloyd first-half penalty. Vectis had a goal disallowed for offside, before Mark Goodwin equalised from close range and grabbed the points when Louis Newsham scored a controversial winner. The second half saw Vectis reduced to 10 before ref Andy Doncaster blew the final whistle.
West Wight won 5-2 away at Northwood, with goals from Brad Thomas, Josh Daley, Taylor Simmons and Josh Craig (2).
High Park secured the Division Two title, after drawing 1-1 with East Cowes Sports, with Dan Robjant scoring the all-important goal.
Second-placed Oakfield won 1-0 through Tyler Larbalestier’s strike.
Sandown & Lake won 5-1 away at Ryde Saints, with goals from Mason Parker, Danny Cowburn, Shay Dixon and Michael Smart (2).
Newchurch won 5-1 at home to Newport Res, with goals from veteran Keith Rust (2), Aaron Doncaster, Luke Warde and Nick Weedon.
Combinations One and Two
In Combination One, Brading Res beat Shanklin Res 4-0, with Rich Scott, Caleb Dyer and Alex Boirand amongst the goals.
Josh Gwilliam and sub Louis Adams’ goals saw W&B Res beat Sandown & Lake Res 2-1, with Rob Iley getting the consolation goal, and W&B’s Luke Bennett booked.
Five goals for Jordan Flynn helped West Wight Res win 13-0 away at East Cowes Sports Res, with Jude Millar, George Saunders (2), Jason Moore, Robbie Simmonds and sub Cameron Ring (2) also on target.
Osborne Coburg Res won 6-1 at home to Bembridge Res, and High Park Res won 5-2 at home to Northwood Res.
Combination Two saw West Wight A win 6-1 at home to High Park A, with Joe Melody (2), Jordan Maloney, Ollie Simmons and Louie Ramage also finding the back of the net.
Sandown & Lake drew 2-2 at home to Ventnor A, Ollie Brown and Harvey Woodward scored for Sandown, and Bobby Baxter and George Creighton scored for Ventnor.
Oakfield Res won 9-1 away at Ryde Saints Res, with 2 apiece for Josh Parsons, Aaron Youngson and Chaz Broadbent and 1 apiece for Char Watterson, Harry Bennett and Robbie Woodford. Bembridge A won 6-1 at home to Newchurch Res.
In the Junior B Cup, Fred Fairman scored Niton Res winning goal in their 3-2 home win against Osborne Coburg A, with Adam Reuben and sub Tom Brownrigg also on target. Osborne’s goals came from Jobe Colebrook and Sam Hatton.
Wessex
Cowes Sports drew 0-0 at home to Downton in the Premier Division. Vics also shared a goal-less draw with Whitchurch, who missed a second-half penalty, in Division One.
Ji Nash, on 30 minutes, opened the scoring for Newport in their 4-1 home win over Hamworthy, with 2 player-of-the-match Sam Kirby goals before the break, and Ji Nash sealing the win.
Midweek football
West Wight Reserves moved to within a point of topping the table, with 3 games in hand, after winning 4-1 at home to Ventnor Res.
After a goal-less first half, 2 goals from Jason Moore, and 1 apiece from Jude Millar and Robbie Simmonds secured the points, with Dan Verstraeten netting the consolation goal.
Sandown & Lake Res won 3-1 at home to neighbours, Shanklin Res, with Kyle Drew on target for Shanklin in the first half as the sides went in level. Sandown got 2 second half goals.
Combination Two saw 2nd-placed Oakfield Res win 5-1 at home to league leaders Osborne Coburg A, with 2 goals from Josh Parsons, and 1 apiece from Aaron Youngson, Char Watterson and Jay Larbalestier. Jake Davies was on target for ‘Burg, and Oakfield have 4 games to play and are 12 points off the top. Charlie Page scored in Ventnor A’s 1-0 home win against Sandown & Lake.
