UPDATED: Man wanted in connection with an aggravated burglary

UPDATED 01/01/20 Police have confirmed that 40-year-old Graham Smith was arrested last night (New Year’s Eve), and subsequently charged with aggravated burglary. He appeared at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court this morning (1 January 2020) where he was remanded in custody to appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 3 February.

Officers want to speak to him in connection with an aggravated burglary in East Hill Road, Ryde, on the evening of December 27.

A number of enquiries have taken place to locate Smith and Police are now asking for the public’s assistance.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said “We believe he is still on the Isle of Wight, however he also has links to other areas of Hampshire, and in particular to Portsmouth.

“He is described as having a distinctive scar on his right cheek.”
