The Women’s 1st XI, skippered by forward, Kate Ednay, enjoyed an end-to-end battle with visitors, 3rd-placed Basingstoke III, at Smallbrook. There were chances missed at either end, resulting in a goal-less first half, with Polly Rider’s work-rate valued by team-mates. Sarah Shaw’s second-half equalising field goal secured a much-deserved point for the determined Island side, now in 4th place in Division Two South.
The 2nd XI lost 4-2 away at United Services Portsmouth, with Islander, Lizzie Dodds, netting in the second half.
Men’s 1st XI lost 2-0 away, at Southampton University, in South Central Division Two. The 2nd XI was awarded a 5-0 home win over Trojans VI, who were unable to raise a side.
This weekend sees the Men’s 1st XI welcome Havant III, with the 2nd XI travelling to Basingstoke IV. The Women’s 1st XI sees a visit from Basingstoke IV and the 2nd XI play away to Chichester Centurions.
