Tuesday evening saw the creation of the East Wight branch of Reform UK. The posts of interim chairman, deputy chairman, secretary, treasurer and campaign co-ordinator were all filled and the branch plans to stand a Reform candidate in every ward in the council elections in May next year.
The meeting also created a working group focusing on Sandown which will apply for various funding opportunities. “Ryde seem to do very well at this, so we thought we’d give it a go for Sandown,” said Sarah Morris, Reform’s former parliamentary candidate for East Wight. “Sandown is in desperate need of regeneration, and much needed funding.”
Anyone interested in helping, or volunteering for Reform can contact Sarah on isleofwighteast@reformuk.com.
A branch will shortly be set up in the West Wight.
