A good home for all your unwanted gardening tools

By Chris Cornford Mar 29, 2021

Ventnor Youth Club is asking the community to donate some spare gardening tools and equipment for its latest project – an allotment.
The town council has been running the club for more than eight years the members currently hold ‘virtual’ meetings.
Tony McCarthy, who helps run the club, explained: “One of the most popular activities has been the cookery sessions at the Green Room kitchen in Ventnor, so we thought it would be a great idea to grow some of our own produce to cook with. We have been offered an allotment at St Boniface Fields in Ventnor and are asking the community to donate spare gardening hand tools and equipment to our project.
“People have been very generous so far – and we have had donations of a water-butt, a wheelbarrow, some raised bed kits, and some tools. However, we still need more hand tools and a shed.”
If anyone has any gardening tools to spare, e-mail tony@ventnortowncouncil.org.uk or ring 07932 890679 and a collection will be arranged.
